I've Been Slathering this Strawberry Honey Butter on Everything
I have been baking homemade bread for years now, and one of my favorite ways to elevate my toast game is with compound butters. And after experimenting with various methods & flavors, I'm so excited to share this quick, easy, and oh-so-delicious whipped strawberry butter with you!
In fact, my first test-batch ended up in the trash, since fresh strawberries added wayyy too much liquid, and the butter completely split. So to still get that fruity, delectable strawberry flavor to shine through, I used strawberry jam. You could also grind freeze dried strawberry powder for an even smoother texture, but I personally like biting into the little gooey chunks of strawberry pieces. And the deep red color of the jam turns this homemade fruit butter spread into a gorgeous, vibrant pink. So pretty!

Now, whipping your homemade strawberry butter is totally optional, but it makes it much lighter and fluffier. And whenever I get whipped butter at a restaurant, it just feels a little extra fancy. And it also makes it easier to spread on baked goods like toasted slices of my cinnamon walnut raisin bread.
Hungry for more sweet compound butters? Try my whipped blueberry butter, honey raspberry butter, whipped cherry butter, and toasted butter pecan butter.

1. Beat the softened butter until it's creamy and fluffy.

2. Mix in the strawberry jam, vanilla extract, and honey.

Flavor Boost Tip
You can add a little lemon zest to your strawberry compound butter to bring a little citrus zing, which compliments the sweetness from the berries & honey.
Tips for Making Homemade Compound Butter
- Hand Mixer vs Stand Mixer: I like using my electric hand mixer to whip up this sweet compound butter quickly. Since we're only using one stick of butter, I found that my stand mixer didn't beat the small quantity as efficiently.
- No Mixer: You could also use a wooden spoon or a silicone spatula & some elbow grease, but your butter might not be quite as airy.

5-Minute Whipped Strawberry Butter
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- ¼ cup strawberry jam
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 Tablespoon honey
Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or in a large mixing bowl with an electric hand mixer, beat the softened butter until it’s fluffy after a few minutes.
- Add the strawberry jam, vanilla extract, and honey. Mix again until everything is well-combined.
- To store, spread the mixed butter in an airtight container & store in the fridge.
Notes
- Butter: Allow your butter to soften room temperature for easy mixing. And for a rich flavor, splurge on a high-fat European butter such as Kerrygold.
- Strawberries: While it might be tempting to add fresh berries, I found that they made the butter watery & split. Instead, reach for your favorite good-quality jam for a creamy, cohesive texture.
