How to Make Almond Milk at Home

- 1 cup raw almonds
- 4 cups water (preferably filtered water)
- 1 pinch salt (⅛ teaspoon)
- 1 Tbp maple syrup (optional sweetener)
In a large bowl, cover your almonds with room temperature water. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and leave on the counter for 8 to 12 hours.
Spread the almonds on a clean kitchen towel. Use your finger and thumb to rub each almond in the towel and slide them out of their skin.
In a food processor or blender, blend the soaked almonds with the water, salt and maple syrup for 1 to 2 minutes, until the almonds are pulverized.
Strain the blended mixture into a large bowl through a thin kitchen towel or cheesecloth. Squeeze the mixture to get all the almond milk out.
Transfer your almond milk to an airtight container like a mason jar and refrigerate. Enjoy!!
