Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 4 cups water (preferably filtered water)
  • 1 pinch salt (⅛ teaspoon)
  • 1 Tbp maple syrup (optional sweetener)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, cover your almonds with room temperature water. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and leave on the counter for 8 to 12 hours.
  • Spread the almonds on a clean kitchen towel. Use your finger and thumb to rub each almond in the towel and slide them out of their skin.
  • In a food processor or blender, blend the soaked almonds with the water, salt and maple syrup for 1 to 2 minutes, until the almonds are pulverized.
  • Strain the blended mixture into a large bowl through a thin kitchen towel or cheesecloth. Squeeze the mixture to get all the almond milk out.
  • Transfer your almond milk to an airtight container like a mason jar and refrigerate. Enjoy!!
