Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • ¼ cup cherry jam
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer or in a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until it’s fluffy.
  • Add the cherry jam and almond extract, and mix again until everything is well-combined.
  • To store, spread the mixed butter in an airtight container. Store in the fridge.

Notes

  • Cherries: While it might be tempting to add fresh cherries to your butter, I found that they made the butter watery & split. Instead, reach for your favorite good-quality jam like Bonne Maman.
  • Butter: Allow your butter to soften room temperature for easy mixing. And for a rich flavor & super creamy texture, splurge on a high-fat European butter such as Kerrygold.
  • Equipment: I like using my electric hand mixer, but you could also use a good ol' wooden spoon or a silicone spatula & some elbow grease. Just note that your butter might not be quite as fluffy.
