Liquid coffee concentrate is the secret ingredient to create the most rich, fudgy, dense brownies ever! The coffee flavor balances the sweet chocolate, making these coffee fudge brownies dangerously irresistible.
Spoiler alert: these brownies are dangerously addictive! Trust me, once you take a bite, you won't be able to step away from these coffee fudge brownies!
The rich flavor and strong aroma of coffee enhances the sweet flavor of chocolate, making your brownies even more sophisticated and irresistible.

Three Ways to Add Coffee to Baked Goods
To add coffee, some recipes call for espresso power, like in my small batch chocolate frosting recipe. But espresso powder can sometimes add an unpleasant grainy texture.
On the other hand, other recipes add liquid coffee, like my fluffy chocolate cake recipe. But brewed coffee requires adding a significant amount of liquid, which could mess with the texture of your recipe.
The easiest and most effective way that I've found to add a punch of coffee flavor without compromising the integrity of your recipe is to add Javy liquid coffee concentrate. Just a couple tablespoons of liquid coffee concentrate does the trick to add an intense and delicious coffee flavor to any baked goodies!
Let's Talk More About These Brownies
If you love gooey, fudgy brownies, then you're going to want to try these ASAP! There is a good amount of melted milk chocolate (about two and a half chocolate bars) in the brownie batter.
And white chocolate chips add a little crunch and extra sweetness. You could add dark chocolate or chopped nuts in your brownies, if you prefer. The world is your brownie oyster, my friends!
In my opinion, the best part of these coffee fudge brownies is the COFFEE! The aroma that wafts out of the oven as these bake is amazing. And since they smell very much like a morning cup of coffee, they can totally be eaten for breakfast, right??
Ingredients
- Milk chocolate - intensifies the chocolate flavor and adds more moisture to the brownie batter so it has a more fudgy texture
- Vegetable oil - creates a much more dense and fudgy brownie compared to using other types of fat like butter
- Eggs - bind all the ingredients together and add moisture to the batter
- Vanilla - enhances the flavors of the other ingredients
- Liquid coffee concentrate - a small quantity adds a super intense coffee flavor
- Granulated sugar - sweetens the brownie batter
- All purpose flour - provides the base structure for these soft brownies
- Cocoa powder - adds a super rich, chocolatey flavor
- Salt - enhances the flavors of the other ingredients
- White chocolate chips or chopped nuts - optional to add a little extra crunch in each bite
Recipe Tips
- Don't overmix your brownie batter, otherwise your brownies could end up tough. Gently mix the batter just until there are no dry flour pockets visible.
- To avoid overbaking your brownies, insert a toothpick into the center to check them. If the toothpick comes out with some moist crumbs but no liquid batter, they're ready to come out of the oven.
- Allow the brownies to cool at least 30 minutes in the pan before cutting them. The longer they cool, the better they'll hold their shape.
- To get perfect slices, run a knife under hot water, wipe it dry then make a single slice into your brownies. Keep repeating this process for clean edges. Or watch my video for more tips on how to cut the perfect brownie slices.
Storing
Uncut Brownies: Brownies will stay more soft and moist when they're uncut. I recommend to cut out squares as you eat them, and cover the rest of the uncut brownies in the baking dish with plastic cling wrap. It will stay fresh at room temperature for 3 to 4 days.
Cut Brownies: Store sliced brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 to 3 days.
Freezer: Wrap brownies individually in plastic wrap then in aluminum foil and store in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature.
More About Javy Coffee Concentrate
To be honest, I had never heard of coffee concentrate before I heard of Javy. Previously, I would have thought that the most "concentrated" form of coffee would have been espresso. But let me tell you, this stuff packs a punch!
When I first opened the small glass bottle, it basically smacked me in the nostrils with the strong, floral aroma of Arabica coffee. There are just two ingredients - coffee and water. No weird chemicals or preservatives await your taste buds.
You can add a teaspoon into your favorite milk to create an instantly delicious iced or hot coffee drink. The liquid coffee concentrate comes in a glass bottle, so it's recyclable. And since the product is concentrated, you aren't wasting tons of plastic cups and containers. It's a win-win for everyone!
