Are you planning a trip to Oahu soon? One of the favorite pastimes of tourists and locals alike is to find a great spot in the evening to relax and watch the sunset. This tiny island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is home to some of the most breathtaking sunsets in the world. Each night, the sky is painted with colors ranging from gold and pink to purple and red. If you're lucky, you may even get to witness the green flash! Here is a list of the 6 best places for sunset on Oahu.

1. Point Panic
Point Panic is a beautiful surfing spot, park and boardwalk on the Kaka'ako Waterfront. There are grassy fields with trees and picnic benches to enjoy. You can take in the beautiful colors of the sunset as the surfers ride their final waves of the day. And there are a ton of cats that hang out here.
2. Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam
If you have access to military bases on the island, the Hickam marina is a great spot to watch sunsets. Also any beach on the base (depending on the time of year) can be a great spot to watch the evening sky get painted with brilliant colors.
3. Electric Beach - Kahe Point Beach Park
On Oahu's southwest coast lies a power plant adjacent to a stunning beach, hence the name "Electric Beach". This is a great snorkel spot, since the warm water from the power plant attracts all kinds of sea life. In fact my mom and I swam with a reef shark and turtles out here! But feel free to stay on dry land and take in the beautiful view of the sunset.
4. Waikiki Beach
While this is probably the most popular beach with tourists and visitors, I had to include it on this list of the 6 best places for sunset on Oahu. You can spread out from the crowds a bit along the long concrete boardwalk. Or set up a hammock between two palm trees and take an evening nap in the sunset's glow.
5. Ehukai Beach Park
Ehukai Beach Park on Oahu's North Shore is home to the infamous Banzai Pipeline. This world-renown surfing spot hosts tens of thousands of surfers each winter in an epic competition. It's equally enjoyable to watch surfers ride their waves as it is to witness the colors of the sky ride their own dance into sunset.
6. Barber's Point Lighthouse
Barber's Point Lighthouse on the southwest point of Oahu is a spectacular place to watch the sunset on the Pacific Ocean. Often times boats are passing by, and the waves gently crash along the shore.

100% it's such a neat place! It's fun to see locals bring out gigantic bags of cat food to feed the local feline family members. 😺
