If you're planning a trip to Qatar, maybe for the World Cup 2022, or perhaps just for a fun vacation, be ready to eat amazing food. The capital city of Doha is filled with amazing places to eat - everything from hummus to sushi. These are the 5 best restaurants in Qatar that you won't want to miss!
1. Bayt El Talleh
Nestled on top of a scenic hill overlooking Katara sits one of the most beautiful restaurants in Doha called Bayt El Talleh. They serve a variety of food from the Levant region. Their menu is set up so you can pick multiple options from the set menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be sure to go with friends, because they serve a lot of food!
The menu prices are a little on the expensive side, but multiple delicious courses are included. And the picturesque views from the restaurant can't be beat.
Pro Tip: Get a ride up and down the hill in one of Katara's complimentary golf carts driven by their staff.
2. Zengo
If you thought the view from Bayt El Talleh was amazing, wait until you see the view from Zengo, located on the 61st floor of the Kempinski building. You can gaze across the water at the Pearl and city skyline. If you have a fear of heights, maybe take a seat away from the windows. Because it's a long way down!
Zengo serves pan-Asian cuisine, but I think they're most well known for their sushi. But don't miss out on a chance to get their truffle fries with whole chunks of truffle mushrooms and parmesan cheese! And hey, since you're living it up, why not stay for dessert?
Pro Tip: This is the most expensive restaurant on our 5 Best Restaurants in Qatar. But Zengo offers a "business lunch" at a set price for a 3 course meal. This can be a great way to try more menu items for a less expensive price.
3. Chapati & Karak
I highly recommend you try karak while in Qatar. This hot drink made from black tea, spices, sugar and milk is delicious and quintessential to the Middle East. But make sure you also add to your travel bucket list a Karak Shake from Chapati & Karak in Katara. It's basically the best milkshake ever because it has hints of chai and cardamom.
This is a refreshing cool drink to sip on as you explore the alleyways and buildings of Katara.
Pro Tip: It's common practice in Qatar to sit in your car and honk the horn to alert a staff member of the restaurant or café to come take your order. But you can also order from the walk-up window or from inside the restaurant.
4. Damasca One
In Souq Waqif there are tons of foodie places to enjoy. If you're in the mood for Syrian food, stop by Damasca One. Their food tastes fresh, authentic and traditional. Plus the setting of Souq Waqif just can't be beat. The bustling market is huge and you could get lost trying to visit all the shops. When you're ready to rest your feet and indulge in a meal (or perhaps another milkshake) this is a great place to stop.

5. The Pearl
Listen, get yourself to The Pearl and just explore. There are too many amazing restaurants and cafes to count here! I recommend Nando's which is an informal restaurant that serves delicious peri peri chicken. Or cool off in Sub-Zero Ice Lounge which is made entirely of ice! The Pearl has everything your heart desires, from Hawaiian food and smoothie bowls to authentic Middle Eastern cuisine.
Pro Tip: Just like Katara, The Pearl also hires staff to drive golf carts for patrons to be able to take a complimentary trip. The Pearl is big and sometimes it's helpful to get a lift to your next shop or restaurant!
